At home work out day 1

And so it begins, the annual decision to “get in shape”. Motivated by a family reunion in June and desire to keep up with my athletic husband I am again on the workout wagon.

Please you guys, take a moment to laugh along with me as I share my journey with you! Working out at home, with extremely affectionate dogs, is not for the faint of heart or the pretty gym girls.

It is filled with dodging the piles of clean and dirty laundry, wondering if I should vacuum the floor first or just embrace the dog hair, and a sincere desire to take all of the other distractions that have stopped me in the past and put a pin in them.

They can all wait a couple of hours so that I might be able to achieve my goal.

Here it is folks, day one!

At Home Work out (sad state of personal fitness but real!)

Day 1 – 30 min on the treadclimber at 1.5, dog

curious but wary, decided to make a game of

licking the back of my knees

– 30 leg pull ups on hanging arm braces,

dodging dogs as they played tag through my

legs

– Hang on bar attempted 2 pull ups. Dog tried to goose me, a lot, I quit.

– Alternate “Walk” backwards up top 3 flights

of stairs on hands doing push-ups, every

other step, licked in the face by dogs and

had heavy panting with wet tongue in my

ear.

– Alternate Squats on stairs starting at the

bottom , dogs one in front and one in back,

constantly shooing the back dog from

sniffing my behind and getting face

thoroughly slobbered by the other.

– Plank 34.? Sec- dog stood over me and

drooled, my shorts are now damp on the

back….

– Leg raises while my hips are on a blue roller

for stretching, clocked dog in the chin. Not

on purpose.

– Showered, cause I love my doggos but I don’t want to smell

like them!

Post work out cuddle while I’m on the floor considering my sanity.
